In February 2019 Oregon passed the first in the nation statewide rent control law, "SB 608." The law eliminates "no-cause" notices after the 1st year of tenancy and establishes a rent cap. In Portland, the law must be followed along with local rent control in Portland City Code section 30.01.085.
